Burning by Terryn Rutford

I am
burning from the waist up
dying from the head down
praying to be saved from what is hidden
in the depths of the darkness
in the pits of the pain
I am learning to forget
learning to pretend
I am whole; I am broken
we remember what we were, in hopes we’ll be that again
transformed from this hell
but it is mine, it is mine
I’ll tell you what I’ve found
if you will share your secretes
too much to be quiet
too much to keep it
